What is Wired That Way?

Wired That Way is a series of seminars, workshops, and presentations based on the classic four-temperament theory, a framework dating back to ancient Greece. The terms Choleric, Sanguine, Phlegmatic, and Melancholic come from that historical tradition and each describe an enduring, inborn personality pattern.

The model closely parallels modern DISC styles, but instead of focusing primarily on workplace behavior, it uses timeless temperament language that often resonates more naturally in personal and relational settings.

Who is it for?

Seminars and learning opportunities are designed for:

✔ community organizations
✔ private groups
✔ churches and other ministries
✔ marriage conferences / retreats
✔ parenting conferences / retreats
✔ women’s events / retreats
✔ other personal and/or social gatherings

Through a live, in-person training session, participants discover their natural wiring and understand the wiring of others, creating the opportunity for transformed communication, relationships, and everyday interactions.

Seminar/learning options

♦️ Wired That Way - The Introductory Session
A clear and engaging stand-alone introductory session of the four classic temperament styles (Choleric, Sanguine, Phlegmatic, and Melancholic) and how they show up and engage in everyday life and relationships. This is generally a 2-hour interactive session and provides a time of Q&A, with a short mid-session break.

In addition to the introductory Wired That Way session, a variety of additional learning opportunities are available that build upon the introductory session, inviting groups to go deeper by choosing a theme to explore in greater detail. Themes include:

♦️ Wired That Way, Part II - a general, interactive workshop session that builds on the first level and engages through interactive group activities and real-life applications.

♦️ Wired for a Stronger Marriage – a focused training that applies Wired insights to strengthen and restore relationships.

♦️ Wired for Smarter Parenting – a session designed to help parents recognize styles and encourage and guide children effectively.

♦️ Wired Through the Journey of Grief – a compassionate training that explores how different personalities process loss and receive support.

♦️ Wired Through the Lens of Faith – a faith-based training on how our style influences the way we live out our faith, engage in community, worship, read the Bible, and more.

♦️ A Very Wired Christmas – a lighthearted holiday session that looks at how each style experiences and engages with the holidays and traditions.

Personal Assessments

A Wired That Way assessment is a simple temperament-based questionnaire designed to help individuals identify their natural, inborn wiring. It highlights primary and secondary temperament tendencies and provides insight into core motivations, communication patterns, strengths, and potential blind spots. Assessments are optional for participants, but highly recommended. The hard-copy assessments are purchased separately ($10 per assessment) and provide invaluable personal insight.
